§01Why

Agents need real chain data, not hallucinations.

Language models guess at prices, balances and fee levels. SOLMCP gives them a verifiable source, with the provenance attached to every answer.

Without SOLMCP

› What is SOL trading at?

“As of my training data SOL was around $20…” Stale, unverifiable, and wrong by a wide margin.

No source · no timestamp

With SOLMCP

› get_price({ mints: ["SOL"] })

The agent calls a tool, reads live JSON and answers with the number, the source and the time it was fetched.

Jupiter · fetchedAt · latencyMs

Provenance on every result

Each response returns data, source, fetchedAt and latencyMs so an agent can cite what it used.

Fast by design

Short per-tool caches keep prices at 5 seconds and quotes at 10, so agents get fresh data without hammering upstreams.

Read-only, always

No wallets, no signing, no transactions. Nothing an agent can do here moves funds.

§02How to use

From zero to a Solana-aware agent in three steps.

SOLMCP speaks standard MCP over Streamable HTTP, so it works with any compatible client.

  1. 01

    Add the server

Paste one line into your MCP client. No account, no API key, no environment variables.

claude mcp add --transport http solmcp https://your-host/api/mcp
  2. 02

    Ask in plain English

Your agent discovers all 12 tools automatically and decides which to call.

› What's SOL's price and the current network TPS?
  3. 03

    Get verifiable answers

Tool calls run server-side. The agent answers with live numbers and cites the source.

SOL $103.98 · 3,214 TPS · via Jupiter, Solana RPC

Prompts to try

  • ›What's the price of SOL and how has it moved in 24h?
  • ›Quote 1,000 USDC to SOL and show the price impact.
  • ›Who are the top holders of USDC, and how concentrated is supply?
  • ›What are priority fees right now, and what should I expect to pay at the high level?
  • ›Summarise the last 5 transactions for this address.

Good to know

  • Aliases. Use SOL and USDC anywhere a mint is expected.
  • Units. Swap amounts are in UI units: 1000 means 1,000 USDC.
  • Errors. Failures return a structured { error: { code, message } }, never invented values.
  • Limits. 60 calls per minute per IP. A friendly 429 tells you when to retry.

§03Tools

Twelve tools. One endpoint.

Every tool has a zod-validated schema and an LLM-oriented description, shared by the MCP server, the REST mirror and the Playground.

§04Use cases

What teams build with it.

Anything that needs trustworthy, live Solana context inside an AI workflow.

Research assistants

Let an agent compile a token brief: metadata, authorities, liquidity across DEXs and holder concentration in a single conversation.

get_token_infoget_pairsget_token_holders

Market dashboards & reports

Generate daily summaries of prices, trending pools and volume with citations, ready to drop into a report or Slack message.

get_priceget_trending_poolsget_pairs

Portfolio & wallet explainers

Paste any public address and ask what it holds and what it has been doing, in plain English. Read-only, no connection required.

get_balanceget_transactionsget_account

Fee-aware tooling

Build bots and scripts that check network congestion and priority fee levels before they decide when to act elsewhere.

get_network_statusget_priority_fees

Transaction forensics

Paste a signature and get a parsed breakdown: type, transfers, fee payer and a human-readable description.

get_transactionget_account

Swap price discovery

Compare routes and price impact for a trade size before anything else happens. Quotes are informational and never executed.

get_swap_quoteget_price

§05Before and after

The same question, with and without SOLMCP.

Every scenario below is something people ask an assistant daily. The difference is a verifiable tool call instead of a confident guess.

Pricing

› What is SOL trading at right now?

get_price

Without SOLMCP

“As of my training data SOL was around $20…”

  • Stale by months or years
  • No source cited
  • No timestamp to verify

With SOLMCP

SOL is $102.63, down 1.3% in 24h, via Jupiter.

  • Live Jupiter price feed
  • fetchedAt on every response
  • Latency reported in ms
Wallet

› What does wallet 7xKX… hold and what did it do today?

get_wallet_balances

Without SOLMCP

“I can’t access blockchain data, but you can check Solscan.”

  • Sends the user away
  • No balances, no history
  • Breaks the agent workflow

With SOLMCP

12.4 SOL, 3 token accounts, and 5 transactions in the last 24h, listed below.

  • Balances read from RPC
  • Parsed history via Helius
  • Structured JSON, ready to reason over
Swaps

› How much USDC do I get for 10 SOL?

get_swap_quote

Without SOLMCP

“Roughly 200 USDC, but check a DEX for the exact rate.”

  • Invented exchange rate
  • Ignores price impact
  • No route information

With SOLMCP

10 SOL routes to about 1,026 USDC with 0.01% impact over 2 hops.

  • Real Jupiter route plan
  • Price impact and slippage included
  • Read-only, never executes
Token safety

› Is this token mint safe to interact with?

get_token_info

Without SOLMCP

“I don’t recognise this token. Do your own research.”

  • Cannot read the mint
  • Misses authority flags
  • No holder context

With SOLMCP

Mint authority is revoked, freeze authority is null, supply is fixed.

  • On-chain authority flags
  • Metadata and decimals
  • Helius-backed lookups

§06Install

Works with the clients you already use.

Pick your client, copy the snippet, restart. Clients change config formats; check your client's MCP docs if a snippet fails.

Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf

Native remote HTTP support. One line or one small JSON file.

Claude Desktop

Bridged through mcp-remote so it can reach a remote server.

Custom agents

Any MCP SDK works. Or call the REST mirror at /api/tools/{name} directly.

§07Playground

Run any tool before you install anything.

The Playground hits the same implementation your agent will call, with real example arguments prefilled.

All 12 tools

get_priority_fees({ accountKeys? })

Priority fee levels in micro-lamports per compute unit.

Press Run to execute get_priority_fees against the live server.

§08Status

Measured, not promised.

Live health per tool, measured by this instance from real calls and a synthetic check every 60 seconds.

§09Safety

Built so an agent can look, never touch.

SOLMCP only exposes public, read-only data. The boundaries are part of the product.

No wallets

No wallet connection and no signing, ever.

No execution

Swap quotes only. Swap endpoints are never called.

No secrets exposed

Upstream keys stay on the server and are redacted from every response and log.

Rate limited

Per-IP sliding window with a clear retry-after on 429.

§10FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is it really free?

Yes. There are no accounts, no API keys and no paid tier. Public calls are limited to 60 per minute per IP to keep it fast for everyone.

Is it read-only?

Completely. SOLMCP has no wallet connection, never signs or sends transactions and never executes swaps. Swap quotes are informational only.

Which clients are supported?

Any MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP, including Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and Windsurf. Claude Desktop connects through mcp-remote.

What are the rate limits?

60 calls per minute per IP across MCP and the Playground. When exceeded you receive a 429 with a retry-after header.

Where does the data come from?

Solana RPC and Helius for on-chain data, Jupiter for prices and quotes, DexScreener for pairs and GeckoTerminal for trending pools. Every result includes its source and fetch time.

Can I trust the numbers?

Results are live from upstream providers with short caches. Failures return structured errors instead of guessed values. Quotes and prices are informational, not financial advice.

Connect your agent in one line.

No keys. No sign-up. Real Solana data in seconds.

Contract address

Always verify the address here before interacting.
